Day 197...

So, we made a trip to the emergency room in Iowa City tonight.  Timmy woke up with some slight swelling over his cochlear implant this morning.  After he first nap, it was larger so we left his outside piece off, to give it a chance to rest.  After his second nap, it was even bigger.  By this time it was 6pm and of course doctor's office is closed.  They did give us the option of bringing him in early that day when we had called because we were concerned, but we had decided to go with a wait and see approach because there was no sign of infection and Timothy was acting just fine.  We get to the hospital and spend three hours waiting for answers that never came.  They put him on antibiotics, just in case, and told us to follow up with his doctor and to not put the outside piece back on unto the doctor gave the okay.  It was completely normal by the time he went to bed that night.  The human body is a mysterious thing.

Day 196...

The cleaning continues...

Today I tackled my baker's rack in our dining room.  It had turned into our own personal black hole, it just kept gathering stuff.  But now it is all nice and clean and I am so proud of what I accomplished today while the babies napped.  Go me!

Day 195...

No picture yet.  My camera was MIA when we went to Devan's court of honor today and Jessie took pictures with his phone.  Not awful because it's one of those expensive phones that has like a 1.3 megapixel camera in it.  Jessie can't find the pictures on his phone.  So we are trying to find them, other wise I will be contacting other people that were there to see if they have any pictures of Devan.

Found the pictures.  Here is Devan  receiving one of many merit badges he earned at Scout Camp.

Day 194...

Another big day for the Timmy. He got his hook-up today!  Woo-Hoo, he can hear!  It is so amazing what they can do with technology these days.  I can't wait to see him really start responding to sounds.  Exciting day!

Day 193...

My big project of the day:  cleaning the toy area.  There is a floor after all!  Yea for accomplishing our goals!

Day 192...

Timothy is getting so big!  He is completely off of bottles now.  No more formula either, they grow up so fast!

Day 191...

A few years ago, 2008,to be exact, I came up with this idea for a really cool christmas gift for my mother.  My father passed on in 2006 and then with the flood of 2008, my mother lost her house.  It had been a hard few years for her.  She needed to see her blessings and I wanted her to have a place where she could always see them.  So I made this wall design.  I bought all of the pieces for it, picked out the pictures and had my husband hang it up.  She has since moved but the beauty of it is that it can go with her.

Day 190...

Savannah thought that it would be a hoot to put on Dietrich's underwear.  Doesn't she look so cute?  There is a diaper on underneath.  Such a cutie and so silly!

Day 189...

This is my great great grandparents.  Jane Elizabeth Easterfeling(Isfording) and Valentine Stephan

We had our monthly relief society meeting tonight and it was about preserving family and personal history.  Last year I made a wonderful keepsake book for my mother for Christmas and this was one of the pictures I was able to include in it.

Day 188...

Timmy is getting in on the soccer action.

Day 187...

Matt and Nicole's new house
In just over two months, the upstairs has been redone leaving it lead free and the outside has been sided and painted, the roof has been replaced, the cement redone so it is smooth now, a hand rail installed, the garage torn down and some landscaping has also been done.  Not to mention new doors, screen doors and new light fixtures.  WOW!

So doing something a little different for today...It's called name this baby.  All of my babies have worn this outfit, can you guess which one this is?

I miss apologize.  I some how missed up my days and lost the picture for today, so this is my fix it scheme!  Enjoy!

Day 180...

So Jessie will not be happy that I am sharing this picture, but who cares?  I love that Dietrich loves to dress up.  He doesn't care if it is in girl costumes or boy costumes.  I think it is cute and funny, while Jessie worries that it will make him more girly.  Like we really need to worry about that when he is 3 years old.

This is from when Dietrich was 2.  Such a cute cheerleader!

And here is Dietrich as Mike Wazawski from Monster, Inc.

Here is Spiderman Dietrich from last Halloween.  This was before we found a spiderman mask at a garage sale and gloves that make the web slinging sound.  he makes a very cool spiderman now.

Also from Halloween last year.  Sheriff Woody with his sister Evelyn  So you can clearly see that he does both girl and boy costumes.  I just don't see the point in telling him no.  Let him be imaginative and creative.

Day 179...

Another casualty of the flood.  This one makes me smile a bit though because gas prices were so bad and now they are more managable.  Not great, but not $3.89 a gallon either.  Thank goodness for that.

Day 178...

This is the empty field where my mother's house stood before the flood of 2008.  It's kind of sad to drive by but I know this is a good thing.  Life goes on and the city must fix itself and rebuild.

This is the missing section of foundation from my mother's house after the flood.  She was red carded, which meant that entry was not adviced.  The city decided in 2009 to tear down all the red carded houses at the city 's expense because no one was fixing them.  In late 2009, the house was torn down and they offered to buy out my mother's house.  She is in the process of saling it to to the city now.  Silver lining, anyone?
